1. Risk & Compliance Assistant Manager 
Scale 4

Purpose of the Position
  • To oversee and manage the formulation and implementation of sound policies and procedures towards ensuring that the bank complies with regulatory requirements and ensure prompt mitigation of possible risks.
Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate, maintain and revise policies and procedures for the implementation of the Compliance Program and its related activities.

  • Analyse and set exposure limits for Credit risk, Liquidity risk, Market risk and Operational risk.
  • Carry out impact analysis to control/mitigate the impact of market risk using various risk assessment tools.
  • Review compliance with the various parameters set in the Risk Policy on a continuous basis.
  • Develop, periodically review and update code of conduct to ensure continued relevance and guidance to management and employees.
  • Collaborate with other departments to direct compliance issues to appropriate channels for investigation and resolution.
  • Develop and oversee a system for uniform handling of violations of policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; and develop/implement corrective action plans.
  • Review Risk Policy Compliance Reports highlighting variances from the limits set and present to the Management/Board for remedial action.
  • Liaise with the Human Resource Department to develop and implement effective compliance training programmes.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Degree in Business related field.
  • Possession of an MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Professional banking qualifications such as ACIB or Diploma in Banking.
  • Good knowledge and solid understanding of: The requirements of compliance monitoring, The Companies Act, The Banking Act, Prudential Guidelines, International Financial Reporting Standards and other internal and external regulations.
  • 8 years relevant working experience, 3 of which should have been at senior management level in a risk related role.
2. ICT Security Officer 
Scale 5

Purpose of the Position
  • To coordinate and manage information security issues within the policies in the organization, and ensure the possible risks are mitigated accordingly.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement and enforce the necessary security policies, standards and measures.
  • Carry out risk assessment on ICT systems and implement necessary security standards and procedures.
  • Evaluate the role of various stakeholders with respect to information security.
  • Monitor the performance of the compliance programme on a continuous basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.
  • Generate reports on the bank’s performance indicating compliance levels and adherence to prudential and market benchmarks.
  • Carry out inspections and identify incidents of non-compliance and recommend appropriate sanctions.
  • Secretary to the risk management committee.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Bsc. in Information Technology or closely related discipline.
  • CISA, ISMS or closely related certification.
  • Knowledge of Banking and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of Unix, Windows, Oracle and Microsoft SQL platforms.
  • Experience of computer based systems auditing.
  • 5 years experience, 1 of which should be technical experience in administration of ICT security.
3. ICT Systems Auditor 
Scale 5

Purpose of the Position

Responsible for auditing the Bank’s information and communication technology systems, processes and security to ensure that there are critical checks and balances adhering to established security policy guidelines and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare audit work papers in compliance with internal audit policies for information systems and coordinate information systems audits for the Bank.
  • Assess the risks inherent in the Bank’s information systems and make recommendations to mitigate them.
  • Develop annual Information Systems audit plans.
  • Conduct information systems operational audits for data security and information integrity.
  • Monitor the implementation & operation of defined controls and recommendations on an ongoing basis and recommend improvements to policies, procedures, efficiency and controls.
  • Participate in the systems development life cycle (SDLC) for new systems ensuring effective project management oversight and execution, design and internal controls, system functionality is optimized and continuous audit of the design and operational effectiveness.
  • Prepare reports presenting findings and recommendations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Bcom. in Accounting/Finance or Bsc. in Information Systems or any other closely related discipline.
  • CISA, ISMS or closely related certification.
  • CPA or ACCA certification is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of Banking and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of Unix, Windows, Oracle and Microsoft SQL platforms.
  • Experience of computer based systems security policies.
  • 5 years experience, 1 of which should be technical experience in audit of ICT systems in a sound corporate environment.
