Our client is looking to fill a Corporate Operations Manager role

Reports to:
 Head of Service Delivery

Purpose of the position

This role is responsible for, Operations & and Control function in the Business Unit. It carries responsibility for the processing, controls, pricing, Fund accounting and quality of the financial information output for the Asset Management business.

Duties/Responsibilities

The Operations Manager plays an active role in the Information output and controls for the business unit.

As key resource in Asset management the role also liaises with other business units such as Finance, Investment team and the other functions in the group business. It is also key liaison with External parties such as custodians, Administrators, Regulators and System vendors.
  • Responsible for the data processing function in the business unit.
  • Carries responsibility for ensuring Unit pricing is done on timely basis.
  • Contributes to and implements Operations strategy.
  • Assists in New clients take –on and exits as appropriate
  • Ensuring timely returns to the regulators on monthly, quarterly, half yearly and yearly basis.
  • Manage the Operations staff in the Unit, ensuring improved team training, learning and development, team-building and positive motivation of staff, as well as documented tasks & targets and performance appraisals.
  • Any other duties that may be allocated by management from time to time
  • Administration which include recruitments of relevant in liaison with the group HR department, amicable staff and customer complaints resolutions etc.
  • Ensuring data integrity in the business core systems and controls on its input and modification.
  • Operations in total – includes all aspects of the operations of the company which include among others various day to day processes, daily pricing, daily reconciliations, communications etc
  • Responsible for Business Analysis
  • Responsible for performance Analysis.
  • Co-ordination and ensuring effective and timely audits by the various auditors; external, internal, statutory inspections, Forensics.
  • Dealing with external matters such as liaison on behalf of the company to third parties such as Custodians, Administrators, System vendors and other business linkages.
  • Responsible for continuous Processes and Systems improvement.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • A business graduate with a major in finance coupled with accounting professional qualification.
  • 3-5 years working experience in several accounting areas including financial reporting and management accounting, treasury, tax and audit.
  • Knowledge of an integrated accounting system and Microsoft packages.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with proven ability to lead a team, influence others to accomplish collective goals and relate to the internal customers of the financial services
  • Ability to work and deliver to deadlines
  • Well-developed Information Communication and Technology (ICT) skills with hands on experience with computerized accountings applications and Microsoft office software(Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook)
  • Ability to present complex analysis with simplicity, clarity and professionalism
  • Highly analytical and organized, with high degree of initiative
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, team building, oral and written communication skills are a requirement for this position
