GTZ Radio Technician Job in Kenya

GTZ is looking for qualified personnel to fill this available position in the “Police Capacity Building Project “Programme.

Radio Technician

Management / Operational responsibilities (Where applicable)

Operations:
 Implement the installations of Communication equipment in set-up radio rooms or vehicles as per directions.

Reporting:
 Participate in the production of Periodic reports within the dept.

Main Activities (Not exclusive)

Operations:
  • Set-up the communications equipment installations in radio rooms and mobile vehicles in the areas of project implementation within the given guidelines.

  • Share expertise with staff working under you.
  • Consult external support and expertise if required under the approval of the Project Manager.
  • Provide advice and solutions to improve the performance of the technical department and contribute to the achievement of set goals.
Reporting:
  • Contribute in the production of periodic activity reports reflecting established performance indicators.
Specific outputs / Expectations
  • Operating according to standard Radio Communications Guidelines.
  • Utilizing standard monitoring tools and systems
  • according to standard reporting formats and periods.
Qualifications
  • High school education equivalent with relevant training in handling radio and radio equipment and installation
  • Not less than 3 years hands-on experience with various Radio communications models i.e, Motorola, Codan etc.In depth knowledge of VHF,HF and data
  • High interpersonal skills and teamwork, preferably a competent trainer with good reputation.
