DRC Agricultural Development long and short term technical specialists

Chemonics International is seeking long and short-term professionals for an anticipated 5-year USAID-funded project in Kenya focusing on increasing food security and agricultural productivity of staple foods in selected regions.

We are seeking specialists in the following areas:
  • Food Security
  • Staple foods production and value chains – maize, sorghum, cassava, yams
  • Nutrition
  • Farmer association development
  • Harvesting, storage and processing
  • Sanitary and phytosanitary measures
  • Microfinance and SME finance
  • Public-private partnerships
  • Rural infrastructure

  • Agriculture and trade policy and institutional environment
  • Gender and youth empowerment
  • Water resource management, ecological sustainability & pest management
  • Capacity building and training
Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree required in agriculture, economics, or related area
  • At least 10 years experience promoting agricultural production and marketing in East African countries
  • Proven track record in successful implementation of technical assignments and proven managerial/supervisory experience
  • Prior experience with USAID highly preferred
  • Experience working collaboratively with host government and international donors and local organizations
  • Fluency in English is required.
