Our client, Mhasibu Savings and Credit Co-operative Society Ltd (SACCO) was established in 1986 and currently has over 7,800 members.

Membership is drawn from ICPAK members and their employees, qualified accountants, accountants in training, accountancy training colleges and spouses of members.

The Sacco is seeking to recruit for the position of
 General Manager.

Job Profile
  • Providing leadership and strategic visioning to ensure the Sacco achieves its overall objectives.
  • Developing, leading and managing an effective team that is accountable to the board for its performance.

  • Designing and Implementing Strategic Business Plans and associated budgets.
  • Implementing Directors’ strategic initiatives to ensure continued growth and profitability for the Sacco.
  • Maintaining high and consistent standards of service at all times.
  • Ensuring appropriate controls and monitoring mechanisms are in place, to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Representing the interests of the Sacco and its members to all stakeholders.
  • Ensuring implementation of departmental policies, goals and objectives.
  • Ensuring, sound financial management and production of timely, accurate and reliable information for board meetings.
  • Guiding recruitment and retention of qualified personnel with high integrity and who also share Sacco values.
  • Reviewing and implementation of information technology programs to ensure efficient services to members and management of the Sacco affairs.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Developing and implementing risk management programs.
  • Ensuring effective organization of board and members meetings and recording of proceedings.
  • Implementation of board and AGM resolutions.
  • Maintaining membership and actively participate in the activities of recognized professional institutions that will benefit the Sacco and make it more visible.
Person Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business related field with a strong bias in Finance; those with MBA will have an added advantage.
  • CPA( K) /ACCA.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in senior management preferably in Sacco industry.
  • Professional qualification in finance and experience in financial management.
  • Demonstrate Strong knowledge of human capital management and marketing.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and co-ordination skills.
  • Age limit should be 40 years and above.
  • Highly developed and demonstrated teamwork skills.
  • Able to use discretion flexible and self starter.
  • A person of high integrity.
