IPPF has six regional offices. The IPPF Africa Region office is based in Nairobi and serves 42 affiliates in sub-Saharan Africa

IPPF Africa region is looking to fill the position of a Resource Mobilisation Advisor. This is an international position to shape the development and funding sustainability of IPPF Member Associations (MAs) working in sexual and reproductive health in 10 pilot African countries.
The position is to boost the income and sustainability of up to 10 Member Associations of IPPF Africa Region in 10 countries, as well as help IPPF Africa Regional Office in Nairobi to better access and deliver on donor income funding.
Applicants need to be self starters, and have the ability to work with a team of advisers working on the 5 thematic areas of IPPF (HIV/AIDS, Safe Abortion, Access to SRHR services, Adolescents and Advocacy) to identify opportunities as well as provide technical support, coordinate proposal development for large proposals and provide strategic direction for the 10 pilot MAs on resource mobilization for the next 5 years.
The postholder will need to be an excellent communicator and planner and also able to form good, trusting relationships with the 10 IPPF Member Associations. There will also be opportunities to interface with IPPF’s resource mobilization staff in other regions, especially with the Central Office in London.
We are looking for a person with the following qualifications and skills:-

  • At least 5 years work experience doing similar or related work in an international NGO or similar organisation – preferably in an African context;
  • Educated to at least post graduate degree level, applicants should also have sound technical knowledge /understanding of donor relations and grant management practices
  • Fluency in English language essential – working knowledge of French is desirable
The post will require significant travel, up to 30%.
