Summary:The WorldWide Antimalarial Resistance Network (WWARN) is recruiting for a Regional Scientific Director for its East Africa office in Nairobi.

The WorldWide Antimalarial Resistance Network (WWARN) has been established to set up a global resource to ensure efficacious use of antimalarial drugs so that more of the right drugs can get to the right people at the right time, and the drugs will last longer.

The Network will work with data collection agencies in countries where malaria is common, and with health
 policy makers at national and global levels. The advertised post is a new role based in Nairobi and leading the WWARN East Africa Regional Office.

The post-holder will oversee WWARN technical and scientific activities in the East Africa region and manage a small clinical team that includes a Regional Liaison Scientist, a Statistician, a Data Manager, and an Administrator.
You will be medically qualified or have a doctoral degree in a biomedical science and have substantial experience in conducting and analysing antimalarial clinical trials with the professional standing in the malaria field required to facilitate high-level discussions with government agencies, research groups, NGOs and WHO offices in the region.

This post is available as a full time or a part time post, until 31 December 2012 in the first instance.

Salary scale for Clinical Grade E65: £30,685 - £53,132 per annum (pro rata)
