In recent years, DTS has worked in over 30 countries and provided technical assistance, training, communications and evaluation services to USAID and the World Bank.
DTS is seeking a Natural Resource Management Specialist for USAID’s Mid-Term Evaluation of the Kenya Civil Society Strengthening Program. The Natural Resource Management Specialist will assist the project in ensuring that targeted civil society organizations, (CSOs) more effectively advocate for reforms, monitor government activities, and provide other critical services to their communities.
Qualifications:
NRM Specialists should meet the following qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in environmental economics, environmental science or related field with an emphasis on natural resource management (required)
  • 10+ years experience in the development and adoption of natural resource management technologies in developing countries (required)
  • 8+ years working in Sub-Saharan Africa (required)
  • 5-8 years experience designing and implementing M&E results frameworks; developing PMPs, work plans and indicators, monitoring on-going programs for USAID or other large donor organizations (required)
  • Proven ability to link natural resources and nature-focused businesses at the community level
  • Knowledge of U.S. Government biodiversity requirements and the USAID Foreign Assistance Framework (required)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as a team member (required)
  • Civil Society experience (strongly preferred)
  • Management and leadership experience
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Strong communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Good problem solving skills
