Branch Manager

The key responsibilities for this position are to:

  • Market for, and build up a portfolio of asset and/or liability customers and cross – sell a range of corporate or retail products.
  • Prospect for,  acquire and grow a set of high quality account relationships
  • Prepare  appropriate  and  well   researched  credit  proposals  for approval
  • Effectively manage the existing and new relationships Identify the sale – on opportunities
  • Ensure the quick turn around time on service delivery
  • Enhance customer service
  • Build up and maintain a cohesive and motivated team at the branch level Participate in product development and marketing initiatives
  • Monitor facility utilization
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Over 5 years hands on experience in a relationship/marketing function in a reputable bank, with relevant banking knowledge.
  • University graduate with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent marketing and communications skill;
  • Relationship management skills
  • Excellent proposal writing skills Well-developed credit analysis skills
  • Possess appropriate knowledge in banking products and operations
  • Person not having experience in handling credit relationships need not apply
Relationship Managers/Officers

Job profile:
The Relationship Manager/Officer will report to the Branch Manager and will be responsible for:
  • Growing and exploiting business opportunities
  • Effectively manage the existing and new relationships
  • Identifying the sale – on opportunities
  • Enhancing customer service
  • Preparing credit proposals for bank facilities.
  • Participating in product development and marketing initiatives
Qualifications and competencies:
  • At least 2-4 years practical experience as a relationship person in marketing and managing existing portfolio.
  • A graduate from a recognized university
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Marketing and business development skills

Manager, Operational Risk & Compliance

Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities for this position are to:
  • Ensure that the operational risk framework and operational risk policies are implemented in the Bank, and that all staff are aware of Operational Risk policies and procedures.
  • Provide tools and methodologies to facilitate the identification, measurement and monitoring of operational risk and control.
  • Provide the necessary guidance and training to ensure compliance with the operational risk framework. Ensure that all potential operational risks within the Bank are monitored and managed and that adequate controls are in place to prevent regulatory breaches (CBK) and regulatory fines.
  • To take ownership of the RCSA (Risk Control Self Assessment) process for the Bank and ensure that they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that an effective Information Risk Management (IRM) environment exists.
  • Ensure that Business Continuity Management (BCM) plans; processes and procedures are up-to-date and followed as per agreed schedules.
Qualifications and competencies
  • A graduate from a recognized university
  • 5 years experience with at least 3 years practical experience in operational risk environment.
  • Banking knowledge
  • Comprehensive knowledge of operational risk methodology.
  • Knowledge of information risk management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of excel and relevant core banking software.
Ecommerce & POS Acquiring Manager / Officer

Key Responsibilities
The key responsibility for this position is to;
  • Prospect for, acquire and grow a set of high quality merchant and point of sales relationships
  • Sale and Market ecommerce products to merchant establishments and point of sales.
  • Prepare and vet business proposals
  • Ensure compliance of visa and  master card to the regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct cost and benefits analysis on business proposals relating to merchant and point of sales.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Over 3-4 years hands on experience in acquiring business from a reputable Bank
  • University graduate, preferably in business, with strong analytical skills
  • Practical knowledge and skills in selling and marketing ecommerce business;
  • Knowledge merchant acquiring systems Knowledge in cost benefit analysis
  • Strong IT skills
  • Excellent proposal writing skills
Internal Audit Officer
Ref: HRD – IAO/4/08/2010
Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate and contribute in the risk assessment process for target audit areas and documentation of results.
  • Prepare and implement audit plan for specific audit assignments to ensure completion within agreed schedule.
  • Develop appropriate audit tests and programs aimed at achieving the desired objectives in areas auditable.
  • Draft suitable audit discussion  memos highlighting key control weaknesses,  non-compliance with procedures and management policies and regulatory requirements, among others on areas audited.
  • Complete audit assignments according to the agreed audit plan.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • University Graduate preferably in Accountancy, Finance or Business Administration
  • Certified Public Accountant, ACCA or equivalent.
  • Banking professional qualifications will be an added advantage
  • Good knowledge of banking operations.
  • Minimum of 3 years banking experience in Internal Audit or any related function.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Good numeric and analytical skills.
  • Proactive and innovative.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
