Scope of the job

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the responsibility of this position is to ensure that complete and accurate books of accounts are kept.

This includes ensuring that the accounting records are reliable and consistent by performing financial accounting functions in line with International Financial Reporting Standards and providing the necessary financial reports in order to facilitate timely reporting for decision making.
Main Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Accounting Manager in the monthly reporting process as well as group reporting procedures.
  • Preparing monthly variance analysis reports comparing actual reports with budget and previous year.
  • Preparing management information reports as required.
  • Cost controller to technical service and capital equipment business areas.
  • Participating in and supporting the project management team by carrying out project analysis and monitoring project costs.
  • Assisting the Accounting Manager in treasury operations, cash management and cash flow projections.
  • Participating in the annual company budget process.
  • Working together with accounting manager in tax planning and compliance
  • Coordinating both internal and external audits (financial & tax)
Experience
  • Four years relevant experience at the level of senior accountant, Management accountant or financial analyst
  • Relevant experience in a busy commercial accounting environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing set up is preferred.
  • Ability to supervise a team.
Qualification
  • Bachelors degree in a business related field (Finance / accounting option)
  • CPA/ACCA/CFA Finalist
  • Computer Knowledge with practical use of MS Word, MS PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Practical experience with fully integrated computerized accounting systems ( SAP will be a definite advantage)
Core Competencies, Skills & Abilities
  • A thorough understanding of Accounting packages to the level of generating various reports.
  • Good knowledge of Reporting and Analysis tools.
  • High computer literacy and in particular, Advanced knowledge in EXCEL and working knowledge of word and Power point.
  • A Good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Excellent Analytical Skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken.
