Tana Delta Irrigation Project Sustainable Management of the Tana Delta Irrigation (RICE) Project The Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority (TARDA) intends to identify a reputable Management Consultant to provide operation and management services on the Tana Delta Irrigation Project located in the Tana Delta at Garsen Division, Tana River District, Coast Province.
The Project, which was damaged by Elnino Floods of 1997/98, has recently been rehabilitated to restore the irrigation infrastructure including the on-farm works of up to 1,763ha and the western flood protection dyke, under the Economic Stimulus Project of GoK. However, facilities of the Estate Compound which include buildings and rice mill works are yet to be rehabilitated and will be executed later.
TARDA lacks the capacity for sustainable management of the Project and hence the need for the Management Consultant.
The Management Consultant is therefore expected to provide sustainable management services for Crop Production, management and operation of the 1763ha scheme including marketing.
TARDA is therefore requesting prospective Management Consultants to submit proposals to Management Consultant in the above project.
Interested prospective Management Consultants should demonstrate their technical and financial capability to undertake these works.
The documents are available at TARDA Head office situated in Queensway House 7th Floor on Kaunda Street, Nairobi upon payment of non-refundable fee of Kshs 5,000. The documents are available from Monday to Friday between 8.00am and 4.00 pm.
Completed documents clearly marked Tender No.‘TARDA/RFP/31/2009/2010’- Management Consultancy of the Tana Delta Irrigation Project Rehabilitation Works addressed to the Managing Director, P.O Box 47309 000100, Nairobi and should be deposited in the Tender Box at the reception on or before 12.00 noon on Wednesday, 30th June 2010.
Opening will be in the boardroom thereafter in the presence of representatives who choose to attend.
