Partners for Progress Job Vacancy: Programme Officer- Enterprise

Partners for Progress (PfP) is a Non Governmental Organization that aims at helping young people escape poverty by supporting education and income generation activities in the poorest regions of Kenya.
PfP implements integrated programmes in Education, HIV/AIDS and Reproductive Health, Livelihoods and Skills Development for young people. PfP wishes to recruit a Project Officer to spearhead its newly instituted Village Savings and Loans Association (VSLA) project in Mwala District.
We seek a talented and socially responsible individual with exceptional skills, background, education and a passion for using investment and education as tools to alleviate poverty.
Location: Based in Machakos Field Office with significant travel to Mwala
Job Purpose: The program Officer is responsible for implementing high quality programs including monitoring, evaluation and reporting. He/she will ensure the practice and institutionalization of a culture of innovation and creativity in programs.

Key Duties and responsibilities:

  • Implementation of VSLA as a core PfP activity and other cross cutting programme activities
  • Conduct training to beneficiaries to include Training Needs Assessment, facilitation and writing training reports.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation of VSLA activities to capture evidence of program impact.
  • Prepare donor reports, capture and analyze M & E data, prepare reports and be responsible for maintaining a data base.
  • Assist in fundraising and donor support
Qualifications and competencies:
You will have a minimum of a relevant first degree from a recognized university with at least 2 years of demonstrated experience working in microfinance and development projects.
You should be proactive in thinking and be able to question the status quo in your day to day work.
You should be strong in community training, have knowledge and experience in community mobilization and sensitization and be willing to work under hard conditions in the rural areas of Mwala district.
