We invite applications for the post of Bell Logger Technician which has arisen in our expansive logging operations within Kericho.
The Job
Reporting to the Forestry Manager, the job holder will be responsible for repair and maintenance of Bell Loggers and other heavy plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all machines and equipment are in good working condition
- Carry out preventive maintenance and fault diagnosis.
- Ensure proper daily start-up inspections on all Forestry machines and that all lubrication requirements are done.
- Carry out repairs in the field and in the workshop for broken-down machinery.
- Issue Store Requisitions to Central Stores for spare parts.
- Report on all major repairs that are required and that have been done
The Person
- A diploma in automotive engineering (heavy plant mechanic) from a recognized university or polytechnic
- 2 years relevant working experience on Bell loggers
- Good knowledge of plant hydraulics
- Good verbal and written communication skills (both English & Kiswahili)
- Self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Good interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills
