Zinduka Afrika an NGO is looking for 10 VCT Counselors.
VCT (Voluntary Counseling and Testing) Counselor Reporting: VCT Manager Overall duty: To create awareness and education for uptake of VCT services and test Clients for HIV and run support groups set up by Zinduka Afrika
Job Description
Specific Responsibilities
  • To create awareness and educate the community about the existence of VCT services.
  • To prepare and test clients for HIV.
  • To provide on-going counseling and make relevant referrals for on-going support including Home Based Care, medical clinics, TB clinics, support groups, post test clubs to mention but a few.
  • To ensure quality of VCT services at all times
  • To keep accurate VCT records
  • To attend supervision for on going training, management and support
  • To ensure high levels of hygiene and cleanliness in the VCT rooms
  • To lead Mobile VCT teams
  • To ensure safe storage of Clinic related items and equipments
  • To compile and submit VCT reports on weekly, monthly and Quarterly to the VCT Manager on time

  • To prepare work plans in the area of operation
  • To meet the agreed targets
  • To lead in mobilization of clients for CTs
  • Assist in resource mobilization
  • To request for all the necessary consumables for undertaking the CT activities on Time.
  • To maintain and uphold Zinduka Afrika policies, HIV/AIDs related policies and guidelines and observe VCT protocols.
  • Any other duties as directed by supervisor
Requirements
For appointment to the post of VCT Counselor, a candidate must;
  • Be a born again Christian
  • Hold Certificate in Voluntary Counseling and Testing from a recognized Institution
  • Hold at least a Diploma in: Social Sciences, Community Work, Public Health, Nursing or other related fields.
  • Experience in working with NGO will be an added advantage
  • Have two years work experience in CT work
  • Possess team work spirit
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
