World Concern International, a Christian Relief and Development Organization, wishes to recruit a qualified and competent person for the following position.
Position Title: Program Director
Location: Goz Beida, Chad
Reports To: Director of Disaster Response and supervises all in-country stall
Major Responsibilities:
  • Provide overall in-country leadership for all program activities
  • Provide strategic vision and program design
  • Liaise directly with donors
  • Supervise all staff in-country, including those from partner organizations
  • With the Security Officer, monitor the security situation, set security policy, and ensure its adherence
  • Manage the country budget, ensuring spending is in line with the overall budget and allocated properly among the various grants
  • Seek new and continuing funding,including writing proposals
  • Seek new opportunities for intervention

  • Collect the necessary information, write and file all donor reports in a timely manner
  • Monitor all indicators to ensure all targets are met
  • Coordinate support for program activities
  • Ensure proper organizational registration and compliance with government regulations
  • Provide materials to Resource Development necessary to raise private funding for Chad
  • Ensure WC Seattle/Director of Disaster Response is kept appraised of all developments in the general situation as well as the program
Qualification ,skills and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in related field.
  • Spiritually mature follower of Jesus Christ and committed to World Concern’s values and mission.
  • At least 5 years field experience working as an expatriate, managing relief or development programs.
  • Experience working in conflict areas
  • Significant experience managing teams of international and national staff
  • Experience in program design, proposal writing and report writing
  • Ability to write and speak both French and English, written is a major requirement for this position.
  • Arabic will be an added advantage
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience managing OFDA grants
  • Experience with Cash-for-Work programming and WATSAN
Working Conditions:
  • This is an unaccompanied post
  • Requires travel to locations experiencing conflict and possible exposure to dangerous situations.
  • Position may include travel on sometimes difficult terrain.
  • Position at times requires long hours in a demanding environment
  • Housing provided: team house in Goz Beida living with 3-6 expatriates
