Basic Salary Scale: Ksh.30,472 – Ksh.40,835 p.m. (SLG 1)
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
1.     a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from a public university in Kenya or any other recognized university;
2.     a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law; and
3.     a Certificate of admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is the entry grade for this cadre. A State Counsel II will work under the guidance of a more senior and experienced officer in performing legal duties pertaining to the department. The duties and responsibilities at this level will include undertaking statistical and research work in the department.

The duties and responsibilities at this level will include undertaking statistical and research work in the department.

Duties and Responsibilities
This is the entry grade for this cadre. A State Counsel II will work under the supervision of a more senior and experienced officer in performing legal duties pertaining to the department.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
1.     handling preliminary enquiries and writing correspondence to complainants and Advocates;
2.     interviewing complainants; and
3.     undertaking research in the department.

1.     a Bachelor of Laws degree (LIB) from a public university in Kenya or any other recognized university;
2.     a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies from the Kenya School of Law; and
3.     a Certificate of admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is the entry grade for this cadre. An Assistant Registrar-General II will work under a senior and more experienced officer in performing legal duties pertaining to the department.
