The Academic Model Providing Access to Health Care (AMPATH) is a project under the auspices of Moi University School of Medicine and Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital whose aim is to provide sustainable efforts in HIV Prevention and Care. Besides the MTRH site, AMPATH also runs satellite clinics at 25 outreach sites in Rift Valley, Nyanza & Western provinces.

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Program manager, the incumbent will among others be responsible of the following:
  • Finalise the Programme Field Level Agreement to be submitted to WFP.
  • Preparing reports for donors as well as the AMPATH Program Manager.
  • Appraising the beneficiaries and stakeholders on the goals and objectives of the program through open meetings.

  • Liaise with WFP at national and regional level and disseminate programme information.
  • In collaboration with WFP, design and supervise monthly food distribution and post distribution monitoring of food usage and the impact of the food basket and the changes in the food security situation and providing necessary recommendations.
  • Liaise with the AMPATH Clinical Department in order to ensure associated activities are appropriately mainstreamed through managerial support to initiatives.
  • Planning program activities and submitting Monthly/Quarterly Activity Plans.
  • Monitoring food distribution process and verifying/validating that appropriate entitlements are distributed to the intended beneficiaries using appropriate monitoring instruments.
  • Conducting food security assessment in AMPATH’s areas of operation.
  • Supporting the FDP staff on commodity pipeline, distribution arrangements, food entitlements, targeting and other relevant issues.
  • Management of, and liaison with, the field support staff to ensure effective support systems are in place and implemented to support the programme.
  • In collaboration with the HR Manager and other relevant staff coordinate.
  • Responsible for ensuring the implementation of, and adherence to, AMPATH’s policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the training, development and capacity building of staff with respect to their roles and responsibilities.
  • Responsible for financial forecasting in line with the budget and projected expenditure.
  • With the support of accountant and data analysts, supervise and coordinate the submission of invoices to WFP.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate Must:-
  • Be a holder of Masters Degree in Nutrition, MPH or any health related field.
  • At least 5 years experience in food distribution in emergency context, two years of which should be in mid level management.
  • Have patience and capacity to positively deal with frustrations and set backs.
  • Have experience in representing an NGO at national level.
  • Be a good communicator, listener and observer.
  • Be a good team worker.
  • Have computer skills: Microsoft Excel and Word.

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Program manager, the incumbent will among others be responsible of the following:
  • Setting and maintaining administrative systems for the Support Network within the recently established groups in Western Kenya Region.
  • Setting up and managing Support Network data base.
  • Managing free flow of information and communication among Network centres.
  • Must have extensive knowledge in HIV/AIDS in general and experience in translating baseline findings in program guidance, and be able to clearly explain issues and their implications to support office and AMPATH.
  • Establish Support Network Newsletter in English and Swahili.
  • As the team expands, provide supervision of other staff as necessary.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate Must:-
  • Be a holder of Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health.
  • Have knowledge of program development, evaluation and interventions.
  • Have extensive knowledge in HIV/AIDS in general and experience in translating baseline findings in program guidance, and be able to clearly explain issues and their implications to Support Office and AMPATH.
Terms of Employment
