We wish to urgently recruit a highly competent, proactive and self-driven person to fill the  following position within our organization.
Senior Procurement Officer
To be based in Nairobi
Purpose of the positions: To provide technical support in procurement planning, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract management, risk management, project management and capability development.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head of Supply Chain in overseeing the process of strategic sourcing, public and/or selective tendering and guiding on effective procurement processes for transactional buying;
  • Ensuring the procurement processes are ethical, transparent and ensures value for money for the organization;

  • Contract from a selection of consultants/firms, in liaison with requesting projects, negotiating fee rates, checking feasibility of draft TORs, conclusion of contract and monitoring its execution in terms of payment and services rendered;
  • Supporting the Head of Supply Chain in establishing a performance framework and criteria for supplier performance rating and managing the organizations supplier relationships;
  • Overseeing the consolidation of various WVK programs’ Procurement Plans and developing a purchasing calendar to ensure delivery of goods required to the programs on time;
  • Tracking the departments Key Performance Indicators and preparing the monthly procurement progress and management reports as required;
  • Conducting skills assessments for procurement officers and provide capacity building trainings as necessary.
  • Act as the alternate secretary to the Central Tender Committee meetings;
  • The position is a Business Partner overseeing procurement activities for one Branch. In this regard the position supports the branch field offices in achieving their implementation goals by ensuring requests for goods and services are promptly supplied;
  • Review quarterly procurement reports from the Branches and note any issues that require attention:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Educational requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized University;
  • Post graduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management (CIPS)
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience with regards to supply chain management. At least 2 of these years should be at managerial level.
  • Membership of KISM
  • A results orientated leader who can handle a heavy work load as wel as manage and satisfy multiple and at times conflicting organizational, and other stakeholder demands.
  • Strong commitment to WV Values, Mission and Vision.
