Save the Children Jobs: Emergency Project Manager – Health & Nutrition

Save the Children has a long history of engagement in Somalia and in Somaliland stretching as far back as 1954. In more recent times (since 1992) Save the Children has maintained an operational office in Hiran Region in the Central South Zone of Somalia. In 2004, Save the Children established an office in Puntland State of Somalia in response to the Tsunamis and continues to undertake programmes from this office; we are also working through partners.
Save the Children Somalia/Somaliland Programme urgently seeks an Emergency Project Manager for Health and Nutrition Emergency Response Program in Puntland. The post holder will be based in Hargeisa but will also spend a substantial part of his/her time in Bosasso/Garowe as security permits.
This position will coordinate the health and nutrition activities of Save the Children’s emergency response with Internally Displaced Persons in the Puntland.
Responsibilities include ensuring adherence to Save the Children’s standards for project management, training, implementation, donor reporting, quality assurance and monitoring, coordination with partners, and management of project staff.
The Project Manager will lead or participate in conducting and assessing rapid assessments and/or surveys of the affected areas, identify the main public health risks, potential future risks, and recommend immediate priority health and nutrition actions. Additionally, the Project Manager may participate in the development of concept papers, project proposals, and contribute to the revision of the emergency response strategy and operational plan.
