Request for Expression of Interest on Consultancy Services for Feasibility Study on Pineapple Processing and Marketing Organization

The Government of Kenya has received credit from International Fund for Agricultural Development [IFAD] towards financing Southern Nyanza Community Development Project.
The Project’s objectives are to reduce poverty and improve livelihoods of the poor communities in six Districts i.e, Nyamira, Rachuonyo, Homa-Bay, Migori, Kuria and Suba.
The project is supported through several components i.e. Community Empowerment, Agriculture and livestock, Primary Health Care and Domestic Water Supply.
The Project now intends to apply part of the proceeds on Carrying out Feasibility Study on Pineapple Processing and Marketing Organization within Rangwe division of Homabay district and its environs UNDER the Agriculture and Livestock Component.
To realize this objective, the project seeks to recruit consulting firm(s) or individual(s) with proven experience of between 3 and 5 years on related assignments
Aims and Objectives

The overall objective of the feasibility study is:
  • Identify and document the potential that exists for setting up a pineapple processing factory within Rangwe division and its environs
  • Provide information based on which the project can seek partnerships with other agencies to support investment in pineapple value addition within the project area.
  • Avail reliable information for use by the private sector for purposes of investing in agro-processing within the project area with specific interest in pineapples
The Project now invites eligible consultant(s), firms or individuals to express their interest in providing the above services. Interested consultants shall provide full information, stating the name and address of the firm, qualifications and details of past experience in similar assignment.
The Southern Nyanza Community Development Project will prepare a shortlist of firms to whom RFPs will later be distributed to.

The tender documents will be opened immediately after the closing time at DC’s Board Room, Homa Bay, in the presence of bidders who choose to attend.
The Project reserves the right to accept or reject any application in whole or in part without giving any reason whatsoever.
