Kimisitu Co-operative Savings and Credit Society Limited is a leading and dynamic Sacco in East and Central Africa, providing a one-stop-shop for diverse quality products and services to its members through maximum and prudent
utilization of resources.
Kimisitu was formed in 1985 by a group of staff from the International Centre for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF) to
promote thrift among members by affording them an opportunity for accumulating their savings thereby creating a source of funds from which loans can be made to them for provident and productive purposes at fair and reasonable
rates of interest. We have enjoyed tremendous success, established a solid base for growth and pride in over 3,700 individual members drawn from 185 NGO’s and International Organizations.
Kimisitu seeks to invite qualified, experienced and self driven applicants to fill the position of Accountant.
Key Responsibilities:
1.     Preparation of timely and accurate monthly accounts and financial statements.
2.     Ensure compliance with all financial and legal requirements in reporting.
3.     Implement sound financial management practices in the society.
4.     Lead in processing of payments by making them in a timely manner and within budgeted limits.
5.     Safe guard the society’s assets and ensure their efficient utilization.
6.     Manage the society’s payroll.
7.     Timely preparation of budgets.
8.     Handle basic ICT matters and co-ordinate with the software provider to ensure that the MIS meets the needs of the society.

Qualifications:

1.     A university degree in Commerce, Finance or Business Administration.
2.     CPA (K).
3.     Hands on experience with ERP / Financial Accounting software.
4.     Diploma in IT or IMIS will be an added advantage.
Skills:
  • Sound ICT skills, Good communication and interpersonal skills, Analytical skills,
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and meet strict deadlines.
Experience:
  • Minimum six years experience in busy accounting office, preferably a financial institution.
