The KTDC is the leading Development Financial Institution (DFI) providing affordable and accessible financial facilities and advisory services to the tourism industry.
The KTDC mission is to develop and diversify Kenya’s tourism industry by providing a range of advisory and financial services to investors in tourism related enterprises.
The organization is seeking to fill the following positions:
1. Head of Audit
Ref: HOA/01
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Audit will be in charge of the Audit function at KTDC and will be responsible for overseeing compliance and managing risk at the Corporation.
Key responsibilities:
  • Appraise the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes, risk management practices and internal audit control systems and redesign where necessary
  • Review operations against the business and strategic plans to determine consistency
  • Monitor the implementation of agreed actions and initiate remedial actions where needed
  • Produce proactive and timely internal audit reports including liaison with external auditors
  • Draw the sectional budgetary proposals and present them for consideration by management for implementation
  • Act as Secretary to the Audit Committee of the Board
Qualifications, Competencies and Experience:


  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a recognized university. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage
  • CPA (K) certificate
  • 10 years relevant experience in a busy commercial institution
  • Possession of CISA or CIA certification is an added advantage
  • Proven track record of integrity, team player with high analytical skills
  • Proficiency in computer packages
2. Head of Credit
Ref: HOC/02
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Credit will be in charge of the Credit function at KTDC and will be responsible for overseeing the credit and lending processes at the Corporation.
Key responsibilities:
  • Draw and implement loan and lending policy guidelines to facilitate processing, award and recovery of loans
  • Manage the receipt of loan applications and the advise on issuance of loans to investors
  • Oversee the maintain records of loan applications, approvals and deferred cases for easy records management
  • Explain and educate the public on the Corporation’s lending policy requirements
  • Report on the degree of risk in the market involved in lending or extending credit
Qualifications, Competencies and Experience:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a bias in Development Finance. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage
  • 10 years relevant experience at a Senior level, at least 6 of which should be in Credit Risk Management
  • Experience in Project Finance or Development Finance is an added advantage
  • Good leadership skills and a team player
  • Good communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in computer packages
3. Head of Human Resources & Administration 
Ref: HRA/03
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of HR & Administration will be in charge of the Human Resources, Administration and Procurement functions at KTDC.
Key responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement relevant Human Resources Systems, practices and training programmes
  • Conduct/carry out skills gap analysis to determine organizational competencies and personal development needs
  • Conduct organizational performance audits and formulate ways and methods of improving productivity
  • Develop and implement administration procedures and guidelines to ensure effective management and distribution of resources
  • Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures for use in securing goods and services for smooth operation
Qualifications, Competencies and Experience:
  • A Bachelors degree in Social Sciences or Business Administration with a bias in Human Resource Management. A Masters Degree in Human resource and Administration will be an added advantage
  • A Diploma in Purchase and Supplies Management
  • 10 years relevant experience at a Senior level
  • Excellent planning, organizational, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Good communication skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Computer packages
4. Senior Investment Officer
Ref: SIO/04
Reporting to the Head of Investments, the Senior Investment Officer will be responsible for evaluating, monitoring, analyzing and reporting the returns of the Corporation.
Key responsibilities:
  • Account for dividends and follow up on the payments to the Director’s secretarial management and consultancy fees from the Corporation’s subsidiaries and associated companies
  • Identify weaknesses in the management and operation of the Corporation’s subsidiaries and associated companies and recommend provision of appropriate remedial action to be taken
  • Conduct regular visits upon request from the respective Boards to the Corporation’s units and prepare recommendations on action to be taken
  • Prepare all information and data necessary to facilitate privatization
Qualifications, Competencies and Experience:
  • A Bachelor of Commerce or Finance degree with an Accounting Option
  • A Masters of Business Administration degree in Strategic management and/or Finance will be an added advantage
  • CPA (K) or CFA certificate
  • 6 years experience in Banking, Commerce or Trade
  • Proven track record of integrity, team player with good analytical skills
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Good knowledge of Capital markets
  • Proficiency in Computer packages
5. Senior Lending Officer
Ref: SLO/05
Reporting to the Head of Credit, the incumbent will be responsible for Implementing sound lending policies, procedures and guidelines to facilitate lending of funds to investors.
Key responsibilities:
  • Oversee and review all project appraisal activities
  • Liaise with the Head of Credit to develop and review criteria for use in lending funds to qualified applicants
  • Conduct market intelligence to determine competitive lending rates for purposes of benchmarking the Corporation’s lending decisions on market forces
  • Carry out quarterly review of loan balances against securities charged to facilitate decision making
  • Provide business advisory services to borrowers in order to improve their performance and the quality of their services
  • Make site visits to borrowers to assess projects and provide feedback to facilitate decision making and follow up on payments
Qualifications, Competencies and Experience:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a business related field from a recognized university
  • Diploma in Project Appraisal
  • At least 6 years in Credit Risk Management
  • Proven track record of integrity, team player with good analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and numeracy
  • Proficiency in Computer packages
6. Senior Procurement Officer
Ref: SPO/06
Reporting to the Head of Human Resources & Administration, the incumbent will be responsible for procuring the right quantity and quality of products and services in a timely and economical manner.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and implement procurement policies and procedures
  • Prepare procurement plans for the Corporation in liaison with the Heads of Departments
  • Co-ordinate the preparation of procurement orders and agreements and identify and select credible suppliers
  • Ensure that ordered goods and services are delivered on time and payments and in accordance with the procurement orders and or agreements
  • Co-ordinate store management and disposal of obsolete stores and ensure effective stock management
  • Secretary to the Corporation’s Tender Committee
Qualifications, Competencies and Experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a business related field from a recognized institution
  • A Diploma in Purchase and Supplies Management
  • Must be a member of a recognized Institute of Purchase and Supply
  • 6 years practical working experience in procurement in a public organization, reputable Financial Institutions or established Commercial organizations
  • Proficiency in Computer packages
  • Team player with good communication skills
