Position: Assistant Network and Systems Administrator
Reporting to: Network and Infrastructure Manager
Supervises: None
Position Summary:-
The Assistant Network and Systems Administrator (ANSA) is responsible for assisting in the provision or implementation of network and systems administration services centered around, but not limited to, call center servers and network infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities:-
The incumbent will be responsible for the following main areas:
  • Providing administration and operational management of all existing IT network and computer systems
  • Administration of voice recording and other essential call center application and database systems
  • Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and, when necessary, performs data recoveries
  • Maintenance and support of the LAN/WAN infrastructure and IP-PBX systems
  • Monitoring performance of the network and servers performance for pre-emptive interventions and optimal tuning
  • Developing and conducting training for system users on operating systems, internet/email and other user applications
  • Managing and supervising scheduled preventive maintenance and planned IT systems projects

  • Information and data security planning, implementation and support
  • Proper documentation of systems procedures and administration tasks
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and other software applications system support
  • Technical support and troubleshooting of any reported IT network and systems problems
Education and experience:
  • Degree level education in computer engineering or Information Technology systems.
  • Professional certifications in Microsoft MCSE and/or Cisco CCNA an advantage.
  • Knowledge in Windows 2003/XP and LINUX; other Operating Systems a plus.
  • LAN/WAN support skills preferably with experience in Cisco network infrastructure
  • Experience in open source network management software systems a plus.
  • Experience  in IP Telephony systems and VoIP operations; experience in Avaya a plus
  • Experience in Enterprise Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery projects planning, implementation and management.
  • MUST be Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; other applications a plus.
  • Minimum 2 year experience in Network and Systems Administration role in a fast-paced busy environment.

  • This position requires the selected candidate to have an appreciation of a 24X7 global operation and willing to participate on shifts and on-call rotation – which will include working on weekends, various shifts and holidays
