2.     Assistant Managers (4 Posts)– Flower, Vegetable , Fruit and Engineering Training Units
The Fresh Produce Exporters Association of Kenya (FPEAK), in collaboration with the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI), is in the process of establishing a Horticulture Practical Training Centre (PTC) adjacent to KARI-Thika.
This is a joint Horticulture-Subsector effort, involving the Kenya Flower Council (KFC), Horticultural Crops Development Authority (HCDA), coordinated by FPEAK and is supported with a Grant from The Netherlands Government.
The PTC is seeking to employ qualified and experienced persons who are passionate about capacity building in the horticulture subsector to the following posts:
A: Manager – Flower Training Unit (one post)
Key Responsibilities: Coordinating production of all varieties of flowers currently commercially produced in Kenya, greenhouse management, offering practical training skills to farmers and workers on floriculture skills, pack-house management, floriculture standards, and other steps on flower value chain.

Qualifications:
Applicants should be holders of B.Sc. Degree from a recognized university in horticulture, agriculture or related field. They should have 5 years experience at Manager level in a busy flower export company, with experience in greenhouse production management, open-field flower farming and preferably 35 to 45 years of age.
B: Managers (2 posts)
Vegetable Training Unit (one post) and
Fruits Training Unit (one post)
Key Responsibilities: Coordinating production and training on all varieties of vegetables and fruits currently commercially produced in Kenya (domestic and export markets), offering practical skills to farmers, and workers on vegetable and fruit production skills, pack-house management, value addition and other steps on the value chain.
Qualifications: Applicants should be holders of B.Sc. Degree from a recognized university in horticulture, agriculture or related field. They should have 5 years experience at Manager level in a busy vegetable and/or fruit production company, with experience in production management, horticulture standards, pack-house and value addition, and preferably 35 to 45 years of age.
C: Manager – Horticulture Engineering Unit: – One Post
Key Responsibilities: Coordinating training on all horticulture farm equipments and tools, including tractor/soil preparation equipment operation and management, irrigation technology, cold chain management, farm equipment/facilities repair and maintenance.
Qualifications: Applicants should be holders of B.Sc. Degree from a recognized university in Agricultural Engineering or related field. They should have 5 years experience at Manager level in a busy farm (preferably horticulture) and preferably 35 to 45 years of age. They should have hands-on experience in operating and maintaining several kinds of farm equipment, tools and facilities.
D: Assistant Managers (4 Posts)– Flower, Vegetable , Fruit and Engineering Training Units (one post each)
Applicants for the posts of Assistant Manager will be required to undertake responsibilities as described under relevant Unit Managers. Qualifications for the post of Assistant Mangers include Diploma from a recognized institution in a relevant field, a minimum of 3 years experience in a busy horticulture farm, experience in the areas as described under relevant Unit Managers, and preferably 30-45 years old.
Terms of Service: An attractive consolidated package, depending on experience, and further in-service training will be offered to successful candidates
