Carlile College Jobs in Kenya: Finance Manager

Carlile College is part of a larger organization called Church Army Africa (CAA) within the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK). At the heart of Carlile College is an enduring desire to equip Christian men and women for mission and evangelism. To strengthen its human resource capacity, a Finance Manager is required.
The qualified person will report to the College Principal
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Process all payments and ensure all accounting data is properly recorded and safeguarded
  • Develop internal control systems, policies procedures and ensure compliance
  • Prepare the necessary financial reports (Trial balance, income and expenditure, cash flow statement, bank reconciliation, balance sheet, fixed assets schedule etc)
  • Assist special project officers in managing and reporting on the accounts.
  • Train and advice non-finance staff on relevant financial policies and procedures
  • Implement cost recovery systems that generate extra revenue for the organization
  • Ensure all potential risks in the finance department are managed and addressed
  • Any other tasks as may be assigned by the line manager.
Person Specification

  • Born again Christian
  • Results oriented with good analytical skills
  • High standards of integrity
  • Competent financial IT skills (e.g. Quick books, Excel, Pastel, Sage)
  • Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Professional and qualified accountant (CPA-K, ACCA-UK etc.)
  • Relevant diploma or degree in accounting[e.g. a BCom or BA )
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a busy office
  • Experience in an NGO/Faith Based Organization/ Training Institution
  • External Audit experience will be a definite advantage
