BIMAS is a leading and fast growing Microfinance Institution operating in 63 districts distributed overt 4 provinces, with the head office based in Embu.
BIMAS is seeking to fill the position of Executive Director and Secretary to the Board of Directors.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the successful candidate will be expected to provide effective leadership and guidance and steer the Institution to growth and development. Suitable candidates are invited to apply.

Job profile
- To provide overall stewardship and leadership in the running of the Institutions’ programs and services and provide regular reports.
- To provide oversight on the activities of all departments and branches of BIMAS in line with the objectives of BIMAS.
- To ensure the institution is properly structured; develop its institutional and field capacity and corporate culture necessary to fulfill its operational objectives.
- To effectively cultivate and develop community ownership of BIMAS in line with stakeholders’ objectives.
- To ensure efficient and effective service delivery and customer care by being responsive to customer needs.
- To co-ordinate Board activities including assisting in formulation of strategic policies, covering Board meetings, workshops and seminars.
- To ensure that BIMAS adheres to all relevant statutory regulations/laws.
- To ensure effective and efficient collaboration between BIMAS and all partners.
- To facilitate efficient planning in financial and human resource mobilization.
- Liaison with and identification of, partners in mobilization of funds to support BIMAS growth plans.
The candidate should:
- Have a Bachelors degree in relevant field or equivalent with at least 5 years Microfinance experience, 2 of which must be at senior management level.
- Demonstrate ability to lead and grow Microfinance business
- Be bold and decisive with good interpersonal skills and a team player
- Have thorough knowledge of Microfinance sector, the Microfinance Act and the transformation process
- Must be willing to live in Embu.
