The Nanyuki Cottage Hospital NCH) is a medium sized community hospital situated in Nanyuki Municipality. It is a not-for-profit facility managed by a committee of volunteers.
With 40 beds for general inpatient and maternity services the Hospital also provides care to geriatrics and long term patients. In addition to static services the NCH reaches out to marginalised communities in provision of primary healthcare through monthly mobile clinics.
The Hospital is in the process of revamping its services by expanding both in and out facilities as well as developing a paediatric HIV/Aids program in line with its 10 – Year Strategic Plan that is going through the second year. To this extent the Hospital requires a dynamic Nursing Officer to lead the nursing team and be in charge of nursing services.
The incumbent will be responsible for planning, organising, directing, and controlling all nursing resources and activities; and for meeting requirements of the Nursing Council of Kenya throughout the Hospital.
Requirements:
The applicant should:
- Be KRCHN with current practicing licence. A certificate in Advanced Nursing is an added advantage.
- Have 5 years work experience at a managerial level in a busy hospital
- Be highly motivated in enhancing nursing standards
- Be a team player with good leadership qualities
- Be results oriented and well versed with evidence based practices
