Municipal Council of Ruiru Jobs in Kenya

Applications are invited from suitable qualified candidates for the following positions in the Council.
1. Works Officer III 
Salary Scale
 10 Salary Range of Kshs. 226,800/= - 333,300 P.A. House Allowance Kshs. 12,000/= P.M.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Ordinary Diploma in Building from a recognized institution coupled with at least 3 years experience.
  • Higher National Diploma in Building from a recognized institution with at least two years experience
or
  • Approved equivalent qualifications and have served in grade of Assistant Works Officer or Senior Building Foreman on Salary Scale 11 in a Local Authority.
  • Advising the Council on all Technical matters.
  • Assist the Town Clerk in Administrative matters of Works Department.
Duties and Responsibilities


  • Supervision and monitoring of all works including maintenance and infrastructure being done by the Council through contract or direct labour.
  • Provide technical drawings for proposed infrastructure development.
  • Any other duties to be assigned by the Town Clerk.
  • Provide Bill of Quantities for the projects.
2. Enforcement Officer
Salary Scale
 10 Salary Range of Kshs. 226,800 – Kshs. 333,300/= Per Annum House Allowance Kshs. 12,000 P.M.
Qualifications and Experience
  • KCE Division III or KCSE C-
  • A certificate of training inspectorate Examination, mounted by a reputable institution e.g. City Inspectorate Training School.
  • Other equivalent and relevant training from a reputable Government Institution e.g. Kiganjo Police Training College, Embakasi A.P. Training College .
  • Trained as a prosecution from e.g. Kenya Institute of Administration and subsequent gazettement.
  • 3 years experience as an Inspector from any of the disciplined forces.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • General administration and planning of the Enforcement Section.
  • Allocation of duties and responsibilities to Askaris and Watchmen.
  • Consultation with the Town Clerk and other Departmental Heads.
  • Procurement of working tools for the section i.e. enforcement.
  • Attendance to meetings.
  • Prosecution of Council matters in court.
  • Enforcement of all Council by-laws.
  • Overall supervision of the section.
  • Co-ordination of joints exercises between the Council and other Government security agencies
