A local financial institution, hereby invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced professionals with excellent credentials to fill the following positions:-

Researchers

Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Economics, Statistics or Finance with a bias in fields such as econometrics, monetary economics, financial economics, economic policy analysis, international economics, public finance and international trade and finance.
  • Possession of professional qualifications such as AKIB or CPA-K as well as being a candidate/graduate of MEFMI Fellowship Programme will be an added advantage.
  • Must have attained an aggregate grade of B+ (plus) at O-level.
Age, Skills & Experience

  • The applicant must be aged below 30 years with 2 - 3 years’ experience in economic policy analysis gained in Central Banks, Ministry of Finance, International Financial Institutions or Research Institutions.
  • The position requires a self motivated economist/financial analyst with strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of database/computer systems including online searching on the internet and any other office technology skills gained from a relevant institution in the public sector, education/research, industry, computing and business/commerce is highly desirable;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Key duties & Responsibilities

The successful applicants will, among other duties and responsibilities, be expected to;
  • Assist in macro economic analysis and reporting of developments in monetary, fiscal, balance of payments and national accounts;
  • Compile reports on developments in the goods, foreign exchange and financial markets, particularly on issues relating to output and inflation, interest and exchange rates, balance of payments as well as monetary and fiscal stance;
  • Assist in forecasting/modelling of macroeconomic behaviour in addition to carrying out relevant research and producing analytical results to management for use in decision making;
  • Compile reports on developments in the labour markets covering issues relating to trade unions and labour laws, employment, unemployment rates and wage policies;
  • Undertake any other duty assigned.
