Employee/Public Relations Superintendent Vacancy - Del Monte Kenya Limited

Del Monte Kenya Limited wishes to fill an existing position of Employee/Public Relations Superintendent. The individual will report to the Human Resources Manager and he/she will join a high achieving management team. The position offers good career prospects and succession management.

1. Job Purpose
• Developing and maintaining harmonious and productive Industrial/Public Relations in the Company.
• Dealing with matters concerning Collective Bargaining and Negotiations, Trade Union representation.
• Developing and implementing Employee/Public Relations strategies that are business friendly.
• Developing positive Corporate strategies to enhance company image.
• Enhancing company’s community relations and human rights issues.

2. Key Result Areas
• Preparing data for Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations and ensuring smooth implementation and administration of the agreements.
• Dealing with Trade Union matters and ensuring quick settlement of the grievances, trade disputes and conflicts.
• Establishing and ensuring industrial harmony/employee relationship through dialogue with employees, unions and management.
• Initiating and supervising programmes for enhancing employee participation and involvement that optimizes organization communication.
• Organizing and co-ordinating company events and consultative meetings.
• Liaison with local leaders, government authorities, the community and Marketing Department to cultivate a harmonious client relationship.
• Developing plans and communication strategies that promote inter-company relations with relevant external organizations for harmonious co-existence.

3. The Person
• At least 30 – 40 years of age.
• University degree in Social Sciences/Humanities.
• Post-graduate qualification in Human Resource Management / Public Relations /Communication is essential.
• A thorough knowledge and understanding of Kenya Labour Laws and negotiations is a must.
• At least 8 years experience in Employee/Public Relations in a large or medium organization with a large workforce of over 3,000 employees.
• Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in managing community affairs is desirable.
• Proficiency in IT is a must.
• Knowledge in Journalism or photography will be an added advantage for the ideal candidate.
