Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:
- Assume responsibility for the programmatic, financial, administrative, and HR management in Kenya
- Manage a talented and diverse team of expatriate and national staff
- Oversee at least 5 significant programs, including two CDC Cooperative Agreements
- Travel regularly to program sites throughout Kenya
- Liaise closely with donors and partners in Kenya on new program development
- Actively identify and pursue new opportunities in nutrition, GBV, HIV, TB, and primary health in Kenya
- Develop a strategic network of excellent local and international partner organizations with relevant skills and innovative programming
- Communicate regularly with the Regional Coordinator, based in Washington, and her team in program implementation, program development, and financial management
- Recruit new local staff, as needed
- Provide regular donor reports, as needed
Qualifications:
- Masters degree or relevant equivalent in Public Health or International Relations
- Proven technical expertise in public health, HIV, TB and nutrition
- Minimum of ten years experience working in Africa; Kenya preferred
- Strong knowledge of HIV/AIDS and TB
- Excellent knowledge of and experience working with USAID, CDC, PRM, and the UN
