Job Summary
  • The incumbent will be responsible for operating a cigarette making/peripheral machine to achieve set target quality parameters and meet market demand at optimum cost and to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities


  • Operating cigarette production machine to achieve the planned production schedules.
  • Monitoring product quality continuously and update quality checklists to ensure that products meet the set quality standards.
  • Checking machine detectors and guard interlocks to ensure they are in good working condition and ensure the machine is safe to operate as well as produce good quality cigarettes.
  • Managing the maintenance of both electronic and paper data for the process.
  • Ensuring good standards of housekeeping and safe working conditions to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
  • Participating in machine service, light maintenance, scheduled machine maintenance, machine overhaul/relocation/installations and clean the machine to forestall disruption of the machine and improve its performance capability.
  • Ensure accurate accounting for time not utilized for positive production by logging in downtime accurately to avail the information required for maintenance planning.
Skills and Experience
  • At least 1 year working experience as a technical operator in a manufacturing environment.

Job Summary
The Electrical Technician ensures all electrical/electronic systems are safe to operate and in optimal condition. The incumbent will carry out planned and corrective maintenance on electrical and electronics systems and installations including PLCs and factory instrumentation and pneumatic system to ensure maximum availability of equipment
and utilities. He will also ensure interlocks are in good working condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and carry out repairs on production lines with the aim of reducing factory downtime.
  • Carry out planned maintenance on electrical plant equipment like vacuum pumps, boilers, compressors, generators, HV panels and Voltage Stabilisers.
  • Carry out regular audits on safety interlocks to ensure all machines are safe to operate
  • Carry out preventive maintenance of electrical components and equipment to reduce cost of spares.
  • Carry out electrical installations to 16th Edition of IEE regulation standards of BAT Co guidelines under supervision of the manager.
  • Keep accurate records of daily quality detector inspections
  • Inform Management on any unusual/abnormal occurrences/observations on the machines
  • Actively participate and lead (where applicable) SDWT activities and initiatives through others in order to contribute to the team success
  • Proper house keeping by ensuring 5S is adhered to at the electrical workshops, cabinets, catalogues manuals and workplaces.
Skills and Experience
  • At least 2 years experience working in a production environment
  • Ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to replace spares on machinery and carry out necessary settings.
  • Ability to decide when to stop machinery for repairs on safety devices.
  • Able to reject sub standard materials or spare parts.

Job Summary
The role of Forklift Driver will primarily be to ensure that forklift trucks are safely operated to handle materials and products as per EH&S policies within all company sites by;
  • Operating Forklift truck to support production processes in production materials & equipment handling.
  • Carrying out forklift inspections to ensure they are functionally in good working condition at all times as per the maintenance & EHS policy.
  • Ensuring continued supply of products and materials as per production plans to enable continuity of factory operations.
  • Maintain Product movement logs for accurate traceability
  • Participate in team meetings and support team decisions to all deliver customer requirements
  • Coordinate with Technical Operators, Technicians, SDWT Team leaders, & Management to ensure on time delivery of production material requirements.
Skills and Experience
  • Minimum National Driving Licence with Forklift Certification/validation specified on the “Special Type”
  • Current Valid Certification of Forklift Operation as stipulated by the OSHA 2007
  • Minimum 2 years experience operating a fork truck in a busy environment

Job Summary
Proficiently perform quality sampling and testing of products, record accurate product quality results in a timely manner, record number of defectives, quarantine defective products and initiate corrective action.
The job holder is required to ensure that all manufactured products meet the customer and product requirements and to keep all work areas and equipment clean at all times.
Key Responsibilities
  • Continuously monitor visual and physical parameters for cigarettes, filters, packets and outers in accordance with the Finished Product Inspection (FPI) protocols, record all relevant information and take corrective measures as and when necessary/ continuously monitor tobacco parameters
  • Setup specifications in the online/Visual Quality Displays (VQDs) system
  • Verify that the correct specification cards and materials are used in the production process.
  • Crosscheck all equipment daily before use and document appropriately.
  • Ensure that the correct quality documentation is completed in accordance with laid down processes.
  • Actively participate in all Self Directed Work Teams (SDWT) activities and initiatives in order to contribute to the team success by ensuring implementation of actions arising from the meeting.
  • Actively participate in Gap analysis and troubleshooting by using problem solving and improvement tools.
  • Maintain the work environment in a clean and safe state through proper housekeeping and 5S
Skills and Experience
  • At least 2 years experience in manufacturing environment in an FMCG organisation
  • Knowledge in statistical process control (SPC)
  • Report writing skills – good clerical skills
  • Good communication skills to encourage and motivate others to improve the quality of their work
  • Basic personal computer skills.
Education
  • Minimum OND in Science Field with Chemistry, Mathematics or Statistics as a major study area

Job Summary
The Shift Quality Supervisor is responsible for championing all quality assurance activities in a shift by conducting independent quality audits ,collating the data, analyzing quality reports, making decisions about products and raw materials, providing feedback to manufacturing and QA teams to ensure that that our products are always perceived by Consumers as the Quality Leader in their competitive set.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Quality control processes such as product specifications, material verification, Product Integrity Traceability (PI&T), process control charts, Finished Product Inspection (FPI) inspection worksheets and brand changes are properly executed and prepare comprehensive shift performance reports.
  • Analyze and determine product quality indices in accordance with Finished Product Inspection (FPI) and Retail Quality Index (RQI) protocols.
  • Schedule equipment crosschecks and calibrations in accordance with requirements of BAT protocols to ensure integrity of the results
  • Perform SPC analysis and interpret quality data to identify causes of variations.
  • Manage and execute relevant administrative activities in the department
  • Make decisions on products and raw materials that deviate from the approved quality standards to ensure that that our products are always perceived by Consumers as the Quality Leader in their competitive set.
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the Quality Assurance System by performing internal system audits on production processes
