Western Education Advocacy and Empowerment Programme (WEAEP) Jobs in Kenya

WEAEP is a local NGO with its main operations in Western Kenya working with women and girls and vulnerable children.

WEAEP seeks to fill the following positions with immediate effect:

1. Project Officer - Child Rights and protection 
Ref:

The holder of this position will have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences with a minimum of three (3) years experience working in children rights programs, with a proven track record.

He/she should also demonstrate rigor in approach and


MUST be result-oriented, a self-starter, and a go-getter with excellent written and oral communication skills.

Computer literacy in word and statistical packages are essential.

This is a contractual position initially for 2 years and the holder will report to the Program Manager.

2. Project Officer - Women and Girls

The holder of this position will have a Bachelor's Degrees in Social Sciences with a minimum of three 93) years working experience working with women's programs.

A proven track record, rigor in approach, results oriented and strong communicating skill, including computer literacy.

Computer literacy in Word and Statistical packages are essential. This is a contractual position initially for 2 years and the holder will report to the Program Manager.

3. Revolving Fund/Micro Finance Office

The holder of this position will have a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option), or Bachelor of Business Administration with a minimum of 2 years of Diploma in Business Administration or cooperatives with a minimum of 4 years working on micro finance, revolving fund schemes, savings and credit cooperatives (SACCO).

Experience in Grameen Bank Models shall be an added advantage. The holder of this position must demonstrate a high level of integrity and will be required to present a certificate of good conduct not more than 12 months old.

This is a contractual position initially for 2 years and the holder will report directly to the Program Officer: Women and Girls' Program.

4. Social Worker - Child Rights Program

The holder of this position will have a minimum of a Diploma in Social Work from a recognized institution with an experience of not less than 3 years. A Bachelor's Degree with 2 years practical experience will be of an added advantage.

In all cases, the holder of this position must be a trained counselor with skills in counseling children with deviant behaviour.

He/she will be fully appraised with the requirements and provisions of the child rights and protection policy, children's Act and Plan of Action. A certificate of good conduct will be of an added advantage.

This is a contractual position initially for 2 years and the holder will report to the project Officer - Child Rights and Protection Officer.
