Thumaita Tea Factory Assistant Factory Accountant and Senior Factory Mechanic Jobs

Thumaita Tea Factory Co. Ltd is seeking to recruit suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions

Assistant Factory Accountant

Reporting to the Factory Accountant - the successful candidate will be responsible for: -
  • Ensuring maintenance of proper books of accounts;
  • Preparing monthly financial and management reports;
  • Preparing timely and accurate reports as required;
  • Participating in and ensuring sound management of stores;
  • Preparing the staff payroll;
  • Assisting in the management of bank accounts and



    tea cess accounts
  • Participating in periodic stock taking.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills & experience:-
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce from a reputable university and CPA part II;
  • Non degree holders with CPA(K) qualifications may also be considered;
  • Working experience of not less than two (2) years;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and accounting packages;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Be aged less than 32 years.
Senior Factory Mechanic

Reporting to the Production Manager - the successful candidate will be responsible for: -
  • Maintaining a comprehensive preventive maintenance schedule for the entire factory;
  • Allocating duties and supervising machinery maintenance team;
  • Diagnosing faults and ensuring timely repairs of the factory machinery and equipment;
  • Requisitioning and verifying of spare parts for machinery and equipment maintenance;
  • Writing technical reports on plant and equipment maintenance;
  • Carrying out timely and scheduled statutory maintenance of steam boilers and generators;
  • Observing and complying with environmental, health and safety measures and regulations;
  • Performing any other duty as may be assigned.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills & experience:-
  • ‘0’ level Division II or KCSE C plain;
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Plant Option) or Mechanical Engineering Technician III Certificate;
  • A certificate of good conduct;
  • At least five (5) years experience gained in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the tea industry;
  • Must be computer literate;
  • Be aged not more than 35 years.
