TechnoServe, Inc. is launching an exciting new program to help 54,000 smallholder fruit farmers double their incomes.

This 4-year initiative under Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in collaboration with Coca-Cola International, will work in Kenya and Uganda to help farmers improve productivity, establish farmer-owned enterprises and create market linkages with identified processors and juice producers supplying local and regional markets with a view to demonstrating the potential for expansion to global exports in the future.

We are seeking highly motivated individuals with strong business and entrepreneurial skills, relevant experience and a passion for small scale farmers in rural set up to fill two positions for Senior Business Advisors and three positions for Business Advisors in our Fruits (Mango and Passion fruits) program in Kenya, all to be based in Embu and Eldoret.

Senior Business Advisors - to establish business development service hubs for fruit farmers in Kenya. Applying candidates should be seasoned Business Advisors with a strong consulting background with hands-on experience in a growth business( serving clients’ business).

In addition, they should be well versed in Project Planning, Implementation and Monitoring of performance coupled with knowledge in finance, budgeting and report writing.

Candidates should possess at least a first degree in a business related field (MBA preferred) with over three (3) years practical private sector experience, business skills, farmer cooperative development, value chain development, horticulture and agri-business experience. Ability to effectively communicate in English and Kiswahili is essential.

Business Advisors - will be responsible for providing leadership in fruit market and business development services for TechnoServe’s client businesses through identification of business service providers, facilitation and provision of business advice, capacity building of clients, business linkages, market information, monitoring of performance and smallholder farmer mobilization and training.

Applying candidates should have at least a first degree in a business related field coupled with 3 years of experience in any or all of the following: agri-business, marketing and finance. Those with experience in finance, project design, management, implementation and monitoring will have an added advantage.
