Rural Electrification Authority wishes to fill the following positions

1. Chief Accountant

Overall Responsibility

Ensure compliance of financial transactions to approved financial policies, procedures and control systems.

Objectives:
  • Maintenance of accurate records
  • Timely availability and reliability of financial information
  • Effective cost control
  • Timely and accurate reports
  • Effective utilization of



    resources
Key Tasks:
  • Participating in formulating and implementing sound financial accounting policies, procedures, strategies and systems that ensure effective control and accountability of Authority resources.
  • Complying with financial and accounting standards and regulations to ensure safety of Authority assets and resources.
  • Implementing policies, procedures and standards on financial accounting in the Authority.
  • Facilitating maintenance of accurate accounting records in the Authority.
  • Coordinating payment of suppliers and in accordance to the Authority policies and procedures.
  • Handling audit queries to ensure they are effectively resolved.
  • Safe custody of Authority financial records including measurement of Fixed Assets Register.
  • Preparing and submitting statutory returns.
  • Budgeting and budgetary control for the department.
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Professional Qualifications:
  • CPA (K) or equivalent
  • Management Development Course
  • Computer Literacy
Educational Qualifications
  • B. Com (Accounting/Finance Option)
  • A masters degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
Working Experience
  • 9 years
2. Senior Engineer, Operations

Overall Responsibility:
 Construction and improvement of rural distribution systems as per approved Authority operating policies and strategies.

Objectives:
  • Continuous improvement of quality of supply
  • Reduction of construction costs.
Key Tasks:
  • Ensuring Authority standards and procedures on system operations and maintenance and safety are adhered to.
  • Procuring and managing Operations and Maintenance contractual services.
  • Participating in the procurement of operations and maintenance materials and equipment.
  • Investigating major system breakdowns and weaknesses and recommending necessary interventions and reinforcements.
  • Managing human, financial and material resources assigned to the section.
  • Supervising, appraising sectional staff and identifying their training and development needs.
  • Maintaining a supportive working environment to foster optimum performance.
  • Performing any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Educational Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • A Masters Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage
Professional Qualifications:
  • Registered Engineer with ERB
  • Management Development Course
  • Computer Literacy
Working Experience:
  • 7 years
