21st Century Pay Solutions East Africa Limited (a joint venture between Three Green Apples Consulting Ltd and 21st Century Pay Solutions Group (PTY) Ltd) is looking to fill the position of Remuneration Consultant

21st Century Pay Solutions Group (Pty) Limited of South Africa and Three Green Apples Consulting Limited in Kenya have been collaborating in East Africa for the past 12 months, providing training, undertaking niche industry salary surveys and launching RewardOnline, a web based national salary survey offering real-time remuneration information.

The establishment of 21st Century East Africa Limited by the two companies is a commitment to continue providing world class consulting services in the remuneration space in

East Africa.

Reporting to the Managing Director, 21st Century East Africa Limited is looking to recruit a consultant who would like to grow their career in remuneration consulting.

The role of the Consultant will be to support management in growing the salary survey, employee engagement, and job grading/evaluation consulting services in the East Africa market, with particular emphasis on RewardOnline.

Key accountabilities include:
  • Supporting the growth of the business by developing effective partnerships with prospective and existing clients, particularly human resources and finance practitioners, and making presentations on a host of company products including RewardOnline - a web based national salary survey and JEasy - a web-based job-evaluation system.
  • Providing specialist remuneration consultancy service to clients.
  1. In survey consulting the key responsibilities include managing client relations; job matching, data collection and verification; data analysis and reporting.
  2. In job evaluation consulting key responsibilities include job profile development; job evaluation and grading; training, etc.
  3. In employee engagement consulting
  4. Other remuneration consulting assignments would include salary structuring, pay scale design, incentive scheme design, remuneration strategy and policy design and total package structuring.
  • Providing input into broader human resource consulting as required from time to time and supporting other team members in the delivery of products and services.
  • Reporting, maintaining relevant process documentation, and preparing proposals.
  • Keeping up with current issues and new developments in human resources and remuneration through participation in training programs, learning secondments and self-development.
To be successful in this role the person needs to be an intelligent, lateral thinker who is highly results-orientated and with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships and influence decisions at all levels within an organisation.

Furthermore, he/she will have solid problem-solving and business acumen skills with a willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines.

The successful candidate will display exceptional personal standards of honesty, integrity, and professionalism and be a strong team player with ambition to progress their career within the company.

Importantly the person needs to also display the following technical skills in order to execute the role to the standards expected:
  • Well developed understanding of remuneration and reward related elements with proven experience in remuneration related work and analysis.
  • Strong excel, PowerPoint, presentation and report writing skills, in clear and concise business English.
  • An understanding of job evaluation and grading frameworks.
  • Strong project management, time management, and leadership skills, with the ability to work alone on a broad variety of projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related fields from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of four years work experience in a busy commercial environment.
