Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD) Jobs in Kenya


The Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD) wishes to fill the following positions:

1. Survey Assistant (GS3)

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Undertaking field surveys.
  • Carrying out data computations, analysis, and interpretation and map compilation.
  • Assisting in




     training programmes.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Diploma in Surveying and Mapping or related fields with at least 3 years practical experience or Higher National Diploma in Surveying and Mapping or related fields with 1 year practical experience.
  • Have experience in the use of modern positioning systems including total stations, surveyors’ grade GPS receivers and Handheld GPS receivers for navigations and mobile mapping in collection of various mapping data.
  • Have experience in processing data from Total station and GPS receivers using various mapping tools including LISCAD, AUTOCAD, ARCMAP, and GPS post processing software.
  • Must demonstrate effective communication skills.

2. Secretary/Administrative Assistant (GS3)

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Receiving visitors.
  • Handling enquiries.
  • Managing office resources.
  • Undertaking basic office administration tasks.
  • Attending to students and lecturers administrative needs.
  • Promoting training programmes.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • A Diploma in Office Management/Business Administration/Secretarial Studies from a recognised institution /examining body.
  • At least Grade C in KCSE or equivalent.
  • 5 years experience in office administration, secretarial duties or front office operations preferably in a training institution.
  • Proficiency in Office Applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

3. Receptionist (GS3)

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Receiving and directing visitors.
  • Handling enquiries about RCMRD and its services.
  • Arranging appointments.
  • Operating telephone switchboard.
  • Processing documents and typing correspondence.

Qualifications:
  • A Diploma in Office Management/Business Administration/Secretarial Studies/Front Office Operations from a recognised institution or examining body.
  • Possess telephone operator skills and experience.
  • At least Grade C in KCSE or equivalent.
  • 5 years experience in office administration, secretarial duties or front office operations in a busy environment.
  • Good customer care and office administration skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
