New Kenya Co-operative Creameries (New KCC), one of East Africa’s leading Food Processing and Beverage companies is involved in buying, processing, selling and marketing of milk and milk products both in the domestic and export markets.New KCC was registered on the 25th June 2003, while its predecessor, the Kenya Co-operative Creameries Ltd was established in 1925. New KCC products range encompasses a wide range of premium products such as Fresh milk, Cheese, Long life milk, fermented milk, Yoghurt, Ghee, Butter and Powdered milk.
New KCC mission is “ We care for the communities around us through provision of high quality dairy and other processed products” while its vision is “ to be the preferred food and beverage company of international standing”.
In order to achieve its strategic goals, the company is
opportunities in distribution of its range of products. The opportunities are available countrywide and all the interested parties whether new or those currently working with the company as agents or distributors are free to respond.
The company is looking for the following categories:-
a) Key Distributors
These are major distributors who operate in wide areas, and those currently dealing with other consumer goods are encouraged to apply.
They should meet the following:-
- Should be available to run the business in person on full time basis.
- Service trade and sales agents within a designated area and ensure effective coverage.
- Raise bankers guarantee equivalent to potential of the area which may range between Kshs. 4 million – Kshs. 20 million.
- Have very well structured distribution system that may include refrigerated vehicles for distribution of Butter, Cheese and fermented products.
- Have proven record on ability to handle customers, trade and institutions.
- Have well equipped spacious storage facility/godown of a permanent structure.
b) Distributing agents
These are small scale localized distributors based in estates, trading centres or specific streets in towns and cities who will be expected to ensure that all New KCC products are available in the designated areas.
They should have the following:-
- Ability to raise a cash deposit equivalent to market potential ranging between Kshs. 120,000 – Kshs. 500,000/=.
- Ability to invest in returnable crates valued between Kshs. 50,000/= - Kshs.100,000/=.
- Should be available to run the business in person on full time basis.
- Well established means of distribution in the form of vehicles, tuk tuks, bicycles or push carts.
- Distribution staff who will be fully trained by New KCC.
- Ability to invest in a spacious store with a storage capacity of not less than 400 crates which must be fully operational throughout the day.
- Ability to invest in coolers/fridges.
- Fully registered business with – certificate of registration, PIN, VAT, ETR machine, stationery, that is, cash sale, invoice and delivery books.
c) Special distributors
- Are you able to distribute New KCC products in a unique process which is fundamentally different from the conventional process outlined above?
- Are you able to invest Kshs. 500,000/= and above in implementing your unique distribution system?
