National Water Conservation & Pipeline Corporation (NWCPC) was established under the State Corporations Act, Chapter 446 of the Laws of Kenya vide Legal Notice 270 of 24th June, 1988 and is charged with the role of developing water infrastructure in the country

 General Manager - Finance

  • Bachelors Degree in Commerce (Accounting Option) from a recognized institution
  • Masters degree in Finance
  • Be in possession of (CPA) (K)
  • Be a member of ICPAK
  • Computer Proficiency
  • 12 years experience, 3 of them in a senior level
Duties and Responsibilities

The General Manager will report to the Managing Director and will head Finance Department. His/Her duties will include but not limited to;
  • Establish financial and management systems for effective implementation of organization’s goals and policies.
  • Ensure efficient revenue collection, disbursements and accounting.
  • Prepare budgets and periodic financial performance.
  • Advise on the financial viability of proposed projects and investments.
  • Ensure compliance to international accounting standards on financial reporting.
  • Ensure timely and economic provision of services, such as adequate office supplies, transport, insurance and maintenance of office equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

The General Manager will report to the Managing Director and will head Construction & Electro Mechanical Department.

His/Her duties will include but not limited to;
  • Direct, co-ordinate, control and manage the Corporation’s planning and design functions.
  • Manage all construction works utilizing available resources.
  • Develop technical standards and criteria to guide in the performance of the various infrastructural works.
  • Ensure proper management of assets such as plant and machinery through effective maintenance and repairs.
  • Develop departmental strategies, policies and plans to facilitate achievement of overall Corporation’s objectives.
  • Take responsibility for the training, development and motivation of the technical staff.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of technical staff and contractors.

  • be a member of Institute of Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK);

  • 8 years experience, 3 of them in a Senior Level
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Organize and manage Accounts Division.
  • Carry out coordination, design, implementation and control of financial systems in the organization.
  • Carry out overall monitoring of revenue collection and expenditure.
  • Design, review and interpret financial policies, procedures and systems.
  • Maintain reliable financial information systems.
  • Undertake revenue projection and budgetary control and prioritization of projects.
  • Ensure that sound accounts and financial management principles and controls are applied in all transactions.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaboration with external lawyers on Legal matters.
  • Litigation and legal advice on insurance matters
  • Management and co-ordination of court cases
  • Preparation and execution of legal contracts.

  • Responsible for all legal matters
  • Supervision, training and appraising of staff in the Section

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering/ Water Irrigation from a recognized Institution
  • Masters degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • Registered with Engineers Registration Board of Kenya
  • Computer proficiency.
  • 9 years experience, 3 of them as a Senior Engineer or equivalent
  • Must have an experience in Large Dams Construction
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility for projects including planning, design construction of water conservations structures or in any other relevant engineering projects
  • Ensuring that clear policies and criteria are laid down for identification of projects, feasibility studies, setting of standards selection of consultants and contractors.
  • Supervision of technical staff and making recommendation for recruitment and promotions as necessary.
  • Plan long and short-term programmes on water conservation and other hydraulic structures, including feasibility studies as well as setting performance targets for the Division.
  • Set standards for selection of consultants and contractors to undertake the projects in line with the Procurement Policy of the Government.
  • Prepare annual budgets and long term investment plans.
  • Give recommendation for recruitment, deployment and promotions.
  • Undertake supervision, training and development of the technical staff – professionals, technicians and artisans.

  • Assist in formulation of long and short-term policies and programes for water projects and conservation.
  • Manage design construction, operation and maintenance of water projects and conservation systems, or in any other relevant engineering disciplines undertaken by organization.
  • Research into standardization of water projects and conservation systems in any of the engineering disciplines mentioned above.
  • Monitor physical and financial progress of water projects and conservation programmes.
