Continuous Quality Improvement

Essential Functions:
  • Develops and implements systems, policies, and procedures for the identification, collection, and analysis of performance measurement data.
  • Analyzes, updates, and modifies standard operating procedures and processes to continually improve services operations.
  • Assists in strategizing and facilitating various committee structures and



    functions to best address the quality improvement (QI) process and oversees Quality Committees.
  • Supervises individual site continuous QI teams with overall responsibility for providing support for clinical quality initiatives.
  • Collects and summarizes performance data, identifies opportunities for improvement, and presents findings quarterly to the organization
  • Facilitates strategic and tactical planning for the quality improvement program, including needs assessments, evaluations, root cause analysis and interventions.
  • Leads, facilitates, and advises site quality improvement teams
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education:
 Diploma in Clinical Medicine, Diploma in Nursing, Degree in Health Administration or related field. (A Bachelors degree is preferred).

Licenses/Certifications:
 Must be registered with the relevant regulatory body.

Experience:
  • Over 2 years of quality improvement experience.
  • Over 3 years working in a busy HIV clinic.
Special Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people with varying levels of education
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
Technical Skills/Requirements:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Senior Medical Technical Advisor 
1 Post based in Nairobi

Job Purpose

To assist the Country Director with establishing efficient and high quality HIV prevention, care and treatment services at at all supported health facilities, and foster site-specific capacity building efforts in clinical care, care delivery systems, and health care management issues related to HIV services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Country Director in delivering the program scope of work and objectives
  • Provide oversight, supervision and mentoring to multidisciplinanry clinical teams of technical assistants, to ensure effective, coordinated, site specific capacity building
  • Participate in the organization’s leadership and working groups to be determined in consultation with the management.
  • Assist the Kenya national HIV program with technical consultation in strategic areas to be determined in consultation with the management.
  • Represent the organization at national and international meetings as determined in consultation with the management
Qualifications

Minimum:
  • Masters of Medicine or equivalent in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics or Family Medicine in good standing with the Kenyan Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
  • At least 5 years experience in clinical care of HIV infected patients
  • Extensive clinical experience working in resource-limited healthcare settings
  • Knowledge of World Health Organization and national HIV treatment guidelines
  • Ability to spend periods of time in the field in Kenya
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Computer skills, including use of PowerPoint and Excel spreadsheets
  • Fluent in English and Kiswahili
