Deputy Manager - Claims
Primary Responsibility
  • To provide leadership to the claims department and ensure that all claims service level benchmarks are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all reported claims are documented in line with the existing work processes.
  • Ensure that prompt service is given to all service providers
  • Ensure prompt recoveries from re-insurers and other third parties.
  • Provide for adequate reserves for all claims within the set guidelines.
  • Review, monitor and provide technical expertise of staff and ensure that there is adequate on job training
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant benchmarks and


    performance
  • Supervision of staff to ensure optimum utilization, monitor their performance, determine their training needs and coordinate their training
Requirements
  • First university degree
  • ACII/AIIK qualifiers or will have completed their ACII/AIIK by the end of this year
  • Sound knowledge in general insurance business
  • Good understanding of our internal processes and systems
  • Knowledge in industry practices in General insurance claims and underwriting
  • Ability to provide guidance and leadership
  • At least five years experience in Underwriting/ Claims in General Business at supervisory level.
Underwriter - General Insurance
Primary Responsibility
  • Responsible for preparing of policy documents, processing of new and renewal endorsements , liaising with the Reinsurance section regarding risks requiring facultative placements, booking and authorization of new/renewal business.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring renewal notices are prepared/sent within the specified bench marks
  • Preparation & dispatch of quotations on a timely basis.
  • Enforce credit control policy
  • Ensuring that all the risks accepted in the company are in tandem with the Reinsurance Treaty Programmes
  • Ensuring that business transacted/closed is reflected in our systems within the effective month and premium debits/credits are dispatched to the policyholders and/or intermediaries as applicable to facilitate premium collection.
  • Ensuring renewal terms are communicated and/or discussed with the intermediaries and/or policyholders within the set benchmarks and renewal instructions are received within the set benchmarks

Requirements

Supervisor - Medical Claims
Primary responsibility
  • To be responsible for medical claims management process including reviewing the same in line with changing business needs, market practices and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
  • Review and implement guidelines as pertains to vetting of all medical insurance claims to ascertain admissibility.
  • Approve the preauthorization, handle case management, retrospective review and discharge planning.
  • Authorize and process payments to providers in line with the service level benchmarks.
  • Processing the inpatient, optical and dental claims as well as adjudicating the outpatient claims for upcountry providers.
  • Review and monitor on monthly basis the credit levels with service providers.
  • Reduce the cost by negotiating rates with providers, monitoring patients expenditure and holding Health talks for scheme members.(thereby lowering the loss Ratio)
  • Conduct monthly service provider audits to ensure performance within the service level agreements and compile reports thereof
  • Supervision of staff to ensure optimum utilization, monitor their performance, determine their training needs and coordinate their training.

Requirements
  • First university degree
  • ACII/AIIK qualifiers or will have completed their ACII/AIIK by the end of this year
  • Sound knowledge in Medical insurance business including processes & systems
  • Knowledge in industry practices in Medical Insurance Claims
  • Ability to provide guidance and leadership
  • At least three years experience in Medical Insurance Claims.
Branch Marketing Executive
Primary Responsibility
  • Ensuring that the production and market share objectives are attained in a favorable relationship to customer needs.
Key responsibilities
  • Secure new business directly or through intermediaries.
  • Service existing business and follow up renewals within the service benchmarks and in line with the monthly renewal target.
  • Identify and recommend new Agents/Brokers to Head Office for appointment.
  • Liaison with Agents and Brokers.
  • Prepare and submit premium quotations to intermediaries/clients on request.
  • Follow up premium payments and other payments with intermediaries and direct clients.
  • Forward weekly and monthly reports as required
  • Gather marketing intelligence including competition, new products and also about the Company’s image
  • Undertake initial underwriting of business to ensure sound acceptance of risk.
  • Liaise with Head Office to ensure that policy documents, endorsements and renewal notices/advices are processed
  • Handle customer complaints written or verbal on a timely basis.
  • Issuing of motor certificates and non motor cover notes
  • Maintaining proper record keeping systems at the branch.
  • Reconciling accounts statements
  • Ensuring duly completed claim forms from intermediaries/clients are submitted to the Head office within our service benchmarks and follow up to ensure prompt settlement of claims.
Requirements
  • First university degree
  • Professional qualification in marketing
  • Certificate of proficiency (COP). A diploma in insurance will be an added advantage
  • Sound knowledge in General insurance products
  • At least three years experience in marketing General insurance products
Underwriter - Medical Insurance
Primary Responsibility
  • To handle all aspects of medical insurance underwriting i.e. to ensure the smooth running of the medical underwriting functions in accordance with the terms and conditions of the policies in place as well as company policies and practices.
Key responsibilities
  • Marketing and sourcing of new business, preparation of quotations and subsequent follow up.
  • Organizing and attending service meetings with existing clients.
  • Coordinating renewal/review meetings with the client and advising the client of any changes to the cover that are deemed necessary
  • Preparation and dispatch of renewal invitations to clients and subsequent follow up of the same and debiting in the system.
  • Database Maintenance involving the addition and deletion of members
  • Ensure prudent management of the client’s premium.
  • Allocation of service providers to clients.
  • Communication and regular updating of client information and cover details to service providers.
  • Preparation of policy documents and dispatch to clients.
  • Collection of premium due from the clients and ensuring that the same is paid upfront.
  • To act as a link between claims and underwriting by providing cover details of every client needed to pay claims.
Requirements
  • First university degree
  • ACII/AIIK qualifiers or will have completed their ACII/AIIK by the end of this year
  • Sound knowledge in Medical Insurance business
  • Good understanding of Medical underwriting processes and systems
  • Knowledge in industry practices in Medical Insurance underwriting
  • At least three years experience in underwriting in General insurance Business.
