Grants Coordinator - Nairobi, Kenya: artnership for Safe Poultry in Kenya (PSPK) Project Jobs

The Grants Coordinator for the Partnership for Safe Poultry in Kenya (PSPK) Project will be responsible for grants administration and management, monitoring & evaluating project’ partners’ performance and developing and implementing a communication strategy to scale-up impact of the PSPK model.

Duration of Initial Contract:
 1st April 2010 to 30t1 January 2011

General:

The Partnership for Safe Poultry in Kenya (PSPK) Project promotes safe poultry production and marketing systems that incorporate freedom from highly pathogenic avian influenza and other poultry diseases, generating high levels of income for


smallholder families.

PSPK links targeted poultry sector stakeholders in Kenya to experienced experts from the U.S. and East Africa. These experts provide volunteer technical assistance to increase efficiency, improve production and marketing, and improve bio-security of Kenya’s smallholder poultry production.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Masters Degree in veterinary medicine, animal production, communications, or related field.
  • Five to Ten years experience preferred with a minimum of 3 years in rural development and technology adoption issues
  • Agri-business facilitation, grants administration and management experience desired
  • Experience in participatory approaches for project planning, monitoring and evaluation including simple logical frameworks
  • Basic computer software packages e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point
Other:
  • Frequent travel to rural areas within Kenya, and other regional countries is required.
