Executive Officer - Aga Khan University (AKU) Jobs

Chartered in 1983, the Aga Khan University (AKU) is committed to excellence in education, research and service. The Faculty of Arts and Sciences in East Africa (FAS EA) will form the largest component of the Principal Campus of the Aga Khan University in East Africa.

This new regional institution, situated in Arusha, Tanzania, aims at academic planning, design and construction for opening by 2016. The planning team is based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Applications are invited from appropriately qualified candidates for the following position:

Executive Officer

Reporting to the Head of Academic Planning, FAS EA, the incumbent will support the planning team in the achievement of a range of innovative strategic goals and objectives, through the provision of administrative and operational services.

S/he will ensure the smooth transition from a start-up operation to


a fully fledged institution.

Leading the overall management of the FAS operations, the incumbent will develop and streamline processes and procedures for all support services.

Applicants should hold a Masters Degree in a relevant field.

S/he should have at least ten (10) years of experience, five (5) of which must be in senior management positions.

Administrative experience in an academic setting will be an added advantage.

In addition, the ideal candidate should possess excellent team building, planning and organisational skills, as well as, the ability to network with a multiplicity of local and international stakeholders. Applicants from East Africa are strongly encouraged to apply.
