ChildFund – Kenya Capacity Building Accountant Job Vacancy in Kenya

ChildFund – Kenya, an International non-sectarian charitable organization dedicated to improving the well-being of children and enhancing opportunities for the development of their full potential wishes to recruit a qualified person to take up the position of Capacity Building Accountant.

The successful candidate will report to the Finance Director and will be based in Nairobi with frequent travels to the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess financial management capacity of community based organizations with a view to identifying the gaps.
  • Promote improvement in accounting skills amongst Community Organizations staff and management committees through relevant training.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Review all community organisation and annual and quarterly budgets before the necessary approvals.
  • Ensure timely submission of reports by the projects and review and provide feedback.
  • Ensure timely disbursement of funds to the projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree CPA (K) with 3 years post qualification experience.
  • Training facilitation skills, innovative with ability to analyze issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to promote the highest standards of integrity and accountability.
  • Strong skills in assessment of proposals, monitoring partners records and accounting for funds.
  • High Integrity and team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ready to travel extensively within Kenya.
