A Business Advisor is being recruited to support the program in increasing coffee producer incomes by strengthening business practices of clients and implementation of strategies that will enable clients to achieve sustainable increases in coffee quality and yields.

The Business Advisor will support the development of coffee wet-mills through identifying entrepreneurs, cooperative formation/strengthening, developing business plans, securing finance, supervising construction, staff training and operational support.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in a relevant field — business, agriculture, the sciences, engineering, economics.
  • At least two to four years’ professional experience — ideally private sector — in one or more of the following areas: coffee processing or agronomy, business or cooperative management, SME development, agriculture, training or extension, finance, or engineering
  • Strong planning skills and experience working to strict time-guidelines
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills
  • Willingness to spend significant time in rural areas
  • Excellent English oral & written presentation skills
  • Computer literacy and Business Acumen
  • Ability and willingness to ride a motor cycle
