As part of BD Medical Surgical Systems strategic growth strategy, the Re-Kindle Program was created and funded to change the growth trajectory of the Hypodermic product platform.

In order to bring highly effective local execution approach to each market/segment, develop local go-to-market strategies and pursue market development including advocacy and policy, BD is seeking to engage suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the following vacancy:

Professional Sales Representative - Medical Surgical Systems
Location:
East Africa

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize sales activities for effective implementation of sales plans
  • Work closely with distributors representatives and customers to promote MSS products within East Africa
  • Ensure all Territory management and Sales Recording systems used are maintained and up to date for all customer groups
  • Undertake market research and analysis, keeping up to date information and customer records
  • Actively work towards achieving business objectives and net sales targets
  • Develop relations with key customers and maintain a reliable network of key opinion leaders

Education and Qualifications:

  • Degree/diploma level in life sciences or nursing qualification with commensurate experience
  • Diploma or degree in Sales and Marketing or commensurate working experience

Professional Skills and Experience:

  • Must have at least 3 years proven experience in Sales within the Medical, Diagnostic and/or Pharmaceutical environment
  • Working experience and understanding of the Government Tendering and Purchasing Policies and Practices is a key requirement for this position
  • Ability to successfully translate and implement business plans and sales strategies
  • Innovation and understanding of markets and services Interpersonal and Social Skills required for both positions:

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate must be fluent in English (written and spoken). Additional fluency in Swahili will be an added advantage
  • Ability to work independently and be prepared for frequent travel within E. Africa and all International BD locations
