Planning Coordinator.

The Position

Reporting to the Budget and Planning Manager, the Planning Coordinator will be responsible to coordinate the financial requirements of planning grant for the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) and Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS), within

the Budgeting and Planning Division, Finance department.

Key Responsibilities 
  • Prepare Planning Grant monthly financial reports (FHS and FAS);
  • Prepare Budget variance reports;
  • Develop monthly funding requests and monthly newsletters for FHS and FAS;
  • Prepare budget and projections for 5 and 15 year projections for Capital, Construction and Operations. This also includes preparing budgets for special projects e.g. WIO;
  • Budget monitoring of construction and other costs;
  • Day to day accounting;
  • Dealing with Contractors for payment;
  • Dealing with senior management in FAS and external Auditors.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Commerce degree (Accounting option/or equivalent);
  • CPA (K) or ACCA qualification;
  • At least three (3) years relevant experience in Budget and Planning;
  • Experience in an ERP environment will be an added advantage;
  • Computer literate (advanced working knowledge in Microsoft Excel required);
  • Excellent communication, and negotiation skills;
  • Excellent numerical analytical skills.
