RTI International is seeking suitable candidates for an anticipated CDC -funded HIV Prevention Program targeting Most-at-Risk Populations (MARPS) in Kenya.
The program is intended to provide continued support to the implementation and scale-up of a combination of HIV prevention interventions to prevent new infections in MARPS (e.g., commercial sex workers (CSW), men who have sex with men (MSM), non-injection and injection drug-users (IDU), and their partners).
RTI is accepting applications for the following positions:
Project Director
Responsible for serving as RTI’s principal liaison to CDC and will provide strategic leadership and technical and managerial direction for the successful implementation of the program.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in public health, health systems management, or health policy, or an advanced degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience managing and leading technical and administrative teams for health projects, including extensive work experience in Kenya.
- Demonstrated senior-level expertise in HIV/AIDS with a strong knowledge of HIV/AIDS prevention, the cultural and political context relevant to MARPS, capacity building and gender.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with CDC, government counterparts at all levels, local organizations, and other program partners.
- Kenyan Nationals preferred.
Mid-Level and Senior-Level Experts for long-term positions
Responsible for providing technical oversight, leadership and managerial direction for the successful implementation of the project.
Applicants are sought for the following areas:
- HIV prevention programming for Most-at-Risk Populations (MARPS) e.g., CSW, MSM, IDU
- Capacity Building
- Monitoring and Evaluation
- Finance and Administration
- Grants Management
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field– a Masters degree preferred.
- 6-10 years of progressive experience working within one or more of the technical areas listed above, including at least 5 years of work experience in Kenya.
- Demonstrated experience working of HIV/AIDS prevention programs; previous work experience with IDU, MSM, CSW, and other MARPS is strongly preferred.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with CDC, government counterparts at all levels, local organizations, and other cooperating partners.
- Experience with data collection for M&E and strategic information.
- Kenyan Nationals preferred.
