Programs Coordinator: Kenya Water for Health Organization (KWAHO) Jobs in Kenya

Kenya Water for Health Organization (KWAHO) is a registered national NGO in Kenya working with various communities in enhancing the health and economic well- being of the low-income and poor communities by facilitating equitable and sustainable access to safe water and sanitation through utilization of costeffective and environmentally friendly technologies.

KWAHO seeks to recruit a Programs Coordinator whose specific duties and responsibilities will include;

· Participating in the development and implementation of KWAHO’s policies, strategic plans, programmes and projects.
· Generating and preparing project proposals in liaison with the Executive Director in fundraising for KWAHO.
· Setting standards (technical and managerial), co-ordination, and backstopping the implementation of projects in liaison with Executive Director.
· Providing leadership, training, supervision and guidance to programme staff.
· Assisting the Executive Director in ensuring production of quality reports and outputs for all narrative and financial reports by project staff before submission to various stakeholders.
· Spearheading the fundraising initiatives through development of concept papers and project proposals
· Representing KWAHO in various task forces, working groups and committees of partner institutions
· Assist in collective positive imaging of KWAHO.
· Designing and coordinating the Monitoring and Evaluation function of programmes and/or projects.
· Perform any other duties as directed by the Executive Director.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

· A University degree in any of the following disciplines: Social Sciences/Development Studies or related fields, or a degree in Water Engineering or Public/Environmental Health from a recognized university.
· At least 5 years experience in project management/coordination in the water and sanitation sector.
· At least 3 years experience in Grants management, proposal development and resource mobilization
· Hands on experience in working with communities.
· Proven skills and knowledge of organizational development and capacity building within the NGO sector.
· Ability and experience in partnership building, networking and collaboration with GOK and others in the sector
· Excellent report writing skills
· Proficiency in use various computer packages
· Fluency in English and Kiswahili languages (written or oral)
